Open Innovation Engagement Manager


Anjali Mehta is an Open Innovation Engagement Manager at Luminary Labs. As an operational strategist, she distills complex systems down to actionable forms, bringing bold ideas into reality. She helps ensure impact lasts beyond client partners and prize winners by using context and care as organizing principles.

The past decade of Anjali’s work has circumnavigated the intersection of human-centered design, data analytics, and community well-being. In the nonprofit space, she has focused on community-centered technology development processes that address systemic and embedded biases. She independently contributes to research working groups in equitable data practices and is a frequent speaker at civic tech, open data, and digital rights and equity conferences. Anjali also advises the nonprofit Atlas of Care in reimagining a fuller concept of well-being that improves networks of familial and social care. Previously, Anjali spent five years with Accenture, where she managed and delivered large-scale analytics solutions to innovate the customer service experience for a variety of companies in the communications, media, and technology industries.

Anjali has a Master of Science in Urban Informatics from New York University’s Center for Urban Science and Progress. Her Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, complemented by a minor in Spanish, is from the University of California, Los Angeles. She grew up in the Bay Area of California and is an outdoor enthusiast with equal appreciation for big cities and desolate mountainscapes.
