Alex Leader is an accomplished professional with a dynamic background in technology policy, strategy, and innovation. He offers advisory services to various organizations, including Luminary Labs, where he has contributed to designing a $100 million BARDA prize competition for patch-based vaccine innovation and a national cybersecurity readiness initiative. He offers strategic foresight to the public sector and has provided vital insights to partners and stakeholders at the CDC, UNICEF, the Virginia Department of Health, and the White House Office of the National Cyber Director.

Previously, Alex worked  as an Engagement Manager at Luminary Labs, where his achievements included devising a $9.8 million NIH prize competition and coordinating a $600,000 project with the Department of Education to enhance tech education in rural areas. His tenure at Amenity Analytics as a Senior Data Scientist and an internship at Dataminr helped him hone his technical skills in natural language processing, machine learning, and data science, applying his knowledge of Arabic, French, and Spanish to extract insights from global social media streams.

Alex holds a B.A. in Public Policy from the University of Michigan, a Master’s in International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego, and is currently pursuing an Executive Diploma in Strategy & Innovation from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His commitment to addressing the climate crisis and his advocacy for a low-carbon economy underscore his dedication to meaningful change. In his personal time, Alex remains passionate about music, practicing piano, guitar, or drums, and continually expanding his musical background.
