Mahala is an Engagement Manager who is known for helping her clients apply expansive thinking to problem-solving. She enjoys combining data and human perspective to impact the future, and is currently working with the U.S. Department of Education to explore ways to strengthen global competitiveness of the American workforce through innovative programs. She has also advised and led engagements with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (MagQuest), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (Hidden Signals Challenge), and pharmaceutical clients.
Prior to joining Luminary Labs, Mahala built an expertise in research, storytelling, and design thinking while developing brand strategies at Siegel+Gale. There, she connected unexpected dots for clients such as Wyndham Hotel Group, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, American Express and CVS Health. She also worked in a Zambian field office for an international microfinance organization, and conducted research at Tuck Business School while earning her B.A. in English from Dartmouth College.
A native New Yorker with a love for mountains and long stories, she will never shy away from a trail map or a big book.
