Janna Gilbert promoted to President of Luminary Labs

Over the past 10 years, Luminary Labs has grown from a one-person firm to a diverse team of strategy and innovation consultants. Our work on behalf of global corporations, nonprofits, and federal agencies now stretches across a broad range of problems that matter.

Today, I’m delighted to announce that Janna Gilbert has been promoted to the newly created role of President of Luminary Labs.

Janna Gilbert

Since she joined Luminary Labs in 2013, Janna has been instrumental in evolving our service offering, building and investing in our team, developing deep relationships with our clients, and supporting strategic business expansion.

Janna is an exceptional leader who has proven that work is not a binary choice; she helps us bring the highest level of excellence to everything we do while creating conditions for a meaningful life outside of work.

Additional promotions

Over the past 10 years, we have had the opportunity to work with incredible leaders across a broad range of thorny problems that matter, in spaces such as chronic disease, the space economy, the advancement of science, and the future of work. Jessica Hibbard, who joined Luminary Labs in 2017 as Managing Editor of Thought Leadership, has helped us share meaningful insights from our work with a broader audience. This month, Jessica was promoted to Head of Content & Community, a new role at Luminary Labs that will connect the dots between people and ideas to develop stories, audiences, and communities on behalf of our clients.

Mahala Pagán and Elizabeth Bowling also joined Luminary Labs in 2017 and were recently promoted to Engagement Manager. Managers at Luminary Labs are experienced consultants who lead teams in the development of strategies and execution of highly innovative programs — from problem statement definition and business case formation to open innovation programs and prototyping accelerators.

Emily Hallquist, who first joined Luminary Labs in 2015, was promoted to Communications Manager earlier this year. Emily leads the development of communications strategies and execution of multichannel outreach programs on behalf of our clients.

New hires

In April, Jonathan Roberts joined as Director. Jon is a trusted advisor, creative connector, and empowering leader who brings incisive strategic thought and evidence-based insights to thorny problems that matter. He has a particular passion for helping people reach and push past their potential.

Benjamin Adler, Betty Chang, and Caitriona Daly joined as Associates; Mercedes de Guardiola joined as Communications Associate. Associates at Luminary Labs are known for quickly ramping up on any subject and for synthesizing large amounts of information to support strategy formation and execution.

As you may have noticed, we’ve updated our job titles to better reflect the roles in our growing company.
