A few Financial District favorites

A few Financial District favorites

Welcome to the neighborhood.

After a few months of enjoying summer in the city and beyond — culminating in a week of synchronous remote work before Labor Day — the Luminary Labs team is back in our downtown NYC office.

Our hybrid workweek gives us easy access to the hidden gems of the bustling Financial District. The southern tip of Manhattan is home to well-known landmarks such as the New York Stock Exchange, the 9/11 Memorial and World Trade Center, and Trinity Church. But beyond Wall Street and a plethora of historic sites, FiDi has some of the best new eats, sights, and happenings in New York City.

This week, we are revisiting our custom map of NYC recommendations to highlight favorite FiDi finds for when you need a quick lunch option, a new meeting place, or a spot to grab last-minute items.

When you need a sesame chai latte but won’t say no to a breakfast burrito. Black Fox Coffee, 70 Pine St.

When you forgot a few essentials on the way to work or need to grab a quick meal to go. City Acres Market, 70 Pine St.

When you want to go to the place Business Insider named the best bar in America for two years in a row. The Dead Rabbit, 30 Water St.

When you want to take your small-group meeting outside and enjoy the fresh air. Elevated Acre, 55 Water St.

When you’re craving mini dumplings and the pad kee mao for lunch. Lil Chef Mama, 27 Cliff St.

When you want to pick up a book for the commute home or need a tote bag for your snacks. McNally Jackson Books Seaport, 4 Fulton St.

When your friend tells you to choose a place with a great happy hour menu and a playlist that will make you Shazam all evening. Mezcali, 83 Maiden Ln.

When you have to get back to Midtown, but don’t want to take the subway. NYC Ferry, South St & Gouverneur Ln.

When you want to pick up a few ingredients for a relaxing dinner at home. Pi Bakerie, 35 Cedar St.

When you are in the mood for a midday walk with a view of the water, the Brooklyn Bridge, and perhaps a celeb or two. Pier 17, 89 South St.

When you need an all-in-one marketplace to eat lunch and grab items for your weekend plans. Tin Building by Jean-Georges, 96 South St.

When you’re hoping to spot a few Luminaries grabbing coffee before tackling a thorny problem or an espresso martini after winning team trivia.  Split Eights, 40 Exchange Pl.
