The fifth annual crowdsourced list of must-attend events.

Conferences are alive and well — even if the dynamics have shifted. As Luminary Labs CEO Sara Holoubek and Director Ben Alsdurf noted after returning from HLTH in November, there are new centers of gravity in some industries as conferences consolidate and attendees bet on the best places to be. For some companies, large conferences are doubling as off-sites in the new world of remote work; attendees may be connecting with their internal teams as well as developing their extended networks.

Luminary Labs conducted a survey from December 8, 2022, through January 11, 2023, to crowdsource a list of the year’s most anticipated events and track shifting attitudes toward convening. Conferences come in all shapes and sizes, and as we’ve heard in previous years, people gather for many reasons: Networking, learning, and inspiration top the list of reasons to attend events in 2023.

Our annual list of crowdsourced conferences, now in its fifth year, is organized around Luminary Labs’ focus areas, with an additional category for events that offer broader coverage of topics across futurism, technology, and innovation, including open innovation.
