September 2025 company announcements

Luminary Labs celebrates a recent promotion and moves to a new office.

Luminary Labs started 2025 with a number of updates, evidence of our behind-the-scenes work to boldly imagine what’s next and help our clients navigate the future. We joined a “best in class” contracting vehicle and announced new team structures and promotions. In February, we also shared our reimagined capabilities, articulating our full range of strategy and innovation consulting services in a new way.

Now, as summer comes to a close, we’re looking forward to sharing more updates this fall. Here’s what’s in store:

  • We’ve been awarded seven new federal contracts and marketplaces this year, that allow for OTAs and other innovative mechanisms, significantly expanding Luminary Labs’ ability to deliver comprehensive strategy, design, and implementation services to government agencies.
  • This summer, we launched a new series to share how we nowcast for ourselves and our clients. The first article explores how demographic shifts will impact societies and economies globally. The next feature will unpack how we work, including how AI is transforming industries. Subscribe to the Lab Report to get the next article delivered to your inbox.
  • We’re moving our office! In short order we’ll share updates on our new office location. We’re not going far — New York’s financial district will continue to be our home.

Celebrating recent promotions

Ellie Kiernan joined Luminary Labs in September 2023 and has been promoted to Engagement Manager. Ellie brings her past experience in innovation consulting to create actionable, human-centered strategies for clients across sectors. She played a key role in designing and producing the Learning Landscapes Challenge, a $2.2 million effort to design and build future-ready K-12 education environments sponsored by Siegel Family Endowment and the Walton Family Foundation. Most recently, Ellie led the design and production of the Learning Landscapes Challenge Demo Day, a live event at Cornell Tech’s Verizon Executive Education Center marking the conclusion of the competition. The event convened more than 100 education funders, innovators, policymakers, and advocates to watch five Phase 3 teams present their multidimensional learning solutions and celebrate the challenge’s two grand-prize winners, announced live at the conclusion of the program.
