Designing for the longevity economy

Designing for the longevity economy

With the global population aging like never before, we are in the midst of what experts are calling a “gray boom”. And yet, despite the growing health care needs of this aging generation, few companies seem to consider their unique wants and needs. Our CEO, Sara Holoubek, sat down with leading designers from IDEO, frog design, Mad Pow, and Stanford’s design school at the AARP’s Innovation@50+ Boston conference to explore just this, and how the current crop of health tech innovators can better understand the patients they serve.

Discussing case studies and experiences from among the group, they shared insights on taking a user-centric approach, applying collaboration, and using new technology like 3D printing to better design products and services that support healthy living.
