Saadiya is an Analyst at Luminary Labs where she supports teams in developing high impact solutions that align with their clients’ mission and values. She specializes in finding the story behind the story and enjoys blending a variety of research methodologies to understand systems, populations, and interventions. Saadiya is currently working to illuminate the physician experience for a major biotech and to advance the use of technology in adult education for the U.S. Department of Education.
Before Luminary Labs, Saadiya served as a technology and innovation consultant for the Ministry of Education in Spain where she designed and piloted Edtech teacher training modules to support the changing national education standards. Prior to this role, she worked for Boston University’s College of Engineering where she translated cutting edge research in areas such as nanotechnology and synthetic biology into K-12 education resources. Applying her background in ethnography, health systems, and community organizing, Saadya has also conducted epidemiology research on obesity and breast cancer for the Ministry of Health of Mauritius and pharmacology research in the Dominican Republic.
Saadiya received her B.S. in Biological Sciences and International Health from Cornell University where she solidified her love for all things culture. Three things she couldn’t be without? Her passport, yoga mat, and paint brush.
