Julia is a marketing transformer who enjoys building brands through digital, developing teams, and helping organizations reach new heights. At Luminary Labs, she has grown a small but mighty team, who blend creative and analytical thinking to solve communications challenges.
Julia is known for helping her clients have real-world impact, whether it be building a movement for the U.S. Department of Education, developing a product launch strategy for Sanofi, or designing community experiences for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and TEDMED.
Julia comes from a digital agency background, where she built and executed strategies for dozens of clients from American Express to Seamless to the Global Women’s Peace Movement. This has taken her on many adventures, working with celebrity YouTubers, coaching clients through social media crises, and introducing brands to the wild world of Reddit. In 2010, she won AdWeek’s Media Plan of the Year Award for her work on Gatorade.
She began her career managing arts organizations, which is where she discovered her passion for mission-driven marketing. She still goes out of her way to support creative endeavors and designed a branding bootcamp series for Food + Tech Connect that empowers indie businesses to own their brand story.
She received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from New York University, and lives in Brooklyn in a multi-generational and multi-lingual household. When given the chance, she can be found outdoors, with a book in hand.
